I was walking down the hallway in my first year of high school with my best friend, when I noticed a tall and lanky older girl walking towards us. Her hair
seemed unusually thin and unkempt and I noticed that she was missing a tooth. She looked like a drug-ridden scrapper. Given my over-protected and very
sheltered upbringing, this girl was an unusual being in an otherwise very prim and proper environment.
As we passed by, I glanced her way to try to make some sense of what I was seeing. She noticed my eyes following her and instantly turned around, grabbed
me by the arm, and pinned me to the wall. She demanded to know what I was 'staring at' and threatened to beat me up.
Suffice it to say, my meek disposition and the crowd that formed around us were enough to convince her to let me off the hook without a scratch. But I left
the scene significantly shaken up and spent the next few years having random dreams about this girl.
My dreams were never an instant replay of the hallway scene nor did they ever feature the fist fight that never happened. My dream was always about me
having a conversation with her, trying to understand her emotional make-up while imploring her to turn her life around and become a better person. The
dream really never changed - the only thing that changed was the way I went about helping her see herself through a new lens.
Life hasn't changed that much over the years. I had the instinct of a coach ever since I was a kid - and that instinct was the driving force that created
Frame of Mind Coaching. I suppose in some ways, I always imagined myself in conversations with people, helping them to see a better picture of themselves,
enabling them to take action in order to live a life of passion and contribution.
My career has taken me a few steps further than that recurring dream with Shelly (that's her name btw). What I never quite imagined was building a company
that certifies others, who also have an instinct for coaching, to become phenomenal coaches by teaching them every aspect of the Frame of Mind Coaching
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to take a look at our new and improved Frame of Mind Coaching site and explore the idea of joining our team by
